Case study: Riviera

The challenge

Riviera Travel offer unique holiday tours across the globe. Traditionally, they have only offered holiday bookings in travel sections of national newspapers; but due to an increasing market in online holiday bookings, they wanted to offer their tours online. Subsequently Riviera’s brief was for a functional, online booking system that could be easily scalable and rolled out to any number of third party HTML designs. And though the brief was specifically for Riviera’s current partners, the system had to be applicable to any number of sites in the future.

Our approach

Working with Riviera Travel’s current booking system provider we developed a vanilla functional booking system that has subsequently allowed national newspapers such as The Times and The Telegraph the ability to list Riviera Travel’s holidays. We had to ensure that the system was flexible enough to be applied to any number of different sites with no comprimise in usability. To that end our technical team spent hours ensuring the system was free from bugs whilst also identifying any other potential issues that may occur on any future sites.

Results

Riviera Travel now offer online bookings on their own website along with The Times Bazaar and The Telegraph websites. This has opened up a whole new audience by enabling the creation of completely functional websites in days to instead of weeks. In addition, they now have the opportunity to apply their functional online booking system to any number of third party websites.
